10. Google Translate
If you come across a foreign language web page and you can’t translate it yourself, Google Translate is the next best thing. It uses Google Translate to fetch a literal translation of the page from Google’s servers. You can set your default language and opt to translate pages automatically if you prefer. The extension adds a button to your browser toolbar. Click the translate icon whenever you want to manually translate the page you’re visiting. This, however, is ranked last in our Best Google Chrome Extensions.
Very good. But I hope that google will buy DuoLingo when it is released. It will make translating huge chunks of the web much more fun… I think!
I use this constantly. The button is nice and all, but far better is autodetection of non-default languages and the offer to translate them. Works relatively consistently and allows me to translate when I want and not when I don’t.
