If you come across a message on Facebook which helps you to change the color of your Facebook profile to either pink, black, red, or any other color, then do not click on it. This is a scam message that is spreading on Facebook trying to trick users into changing the color of their Facebook profile.
The scam message is spreading with the following title – “Switch to Black Facebook (Limited Time!),” “Switch to Red Facebook (Limited Time!),” or “Switch to Pink Facebook (Limited Time!),” along with a link to a Facebook app. DO NOT install this app as it will grant the scammer access to your profile information and photos.
The following message is used as a description -
“Say goodbye to the boring blue profile and say hello to the black profile!!” or “Say goodbye to the boring blue profile and say hello to the red profile!!” or “Say goodbye to the boring blue profile and say hello to the pink profile!!”
Cool! Hello Pink Facebook and Goodbye Blue Facebook! I am able to change my Facebook profile with 5 different colors and themes! Choose your preferred color and theme here:>>> [link]
DO NOT click on these links whatsoever. Scammers try to trick users to click on these scam messages and steal vital information from the user’s account. Sometimes, it might lead to hacking and your Facebook account might get compromised.
If you have already clicked on the link, then I advise you to change the password of your account and remove the app from your Facebook profile.
Clicking links on Facebook could lead to your account being hacked. Scammers generally create scams like to either try to hack the users’ account or gain access to confidential information, like credit card details, email address, or passwords. Sometimes, visiting bogus websites will automatically download malware programs on your computer, which are programmed to gather your personal information. The information gathered are then sent to the scammer, who could misuse it.
